Hanoi Vietnam

We arrived in Vietnam late last night after flying 21 hours to get here. Today we did a private tour of Hanoi with a guide. 

We visited the Tran Quoc Pagoda and had to cover our shoulders and knees. We were lucky that Billy’s shorts were long enough to cover his knees! 

 

There was a beautiful Banyan tree at the pagoda. 

We also visited the Temple of Literature. 

We had delicious food. The soup with breakfast was my favorite.

At the end of our tour, we had a drink on the train street and waited for the train to come by. It was so close! 

There are so many scooters! It’s scary to cross the road. Our guide helped us literally walk through the scooters and just keep walking!

Roatan Honduras

We arrived to Roatan on Monday just after a huge tropical storm. It was mostly cloudy, rainy and windy our first few days with very rough surf. We met the Carey family and Ehler family there. 

Our first day we hired a van to drive us around the island. 

 

We stopped at a local brewery. 

 

Our hotel had a cute little restaurant overlooking the ocean. 

On our last night it was Billy’s birthday and we ate at a fabulous restaurant. 

We finally got nice weather at the end of our trip and Billy and I were able to snorkel. It was fabulous snorkeling! The others in the group went diving. 

Cassis and Calunques

We took a train from Nice to Cassis, a quaint port town next to the Calunques National Park. We spent our last two nights here. 

On our last day we hiked most of the day in the national park. It was stunningly beautiful.

Below is a gorgeous beach in Calunque En Vau. We did not hike down because we had already been hiking for hours. 

At the end of the day we got ice creams (well deserved) and walked to the beach at sunset. 

The view from our balcony at sunset was so pretty with the sun on the red rocks. 

It was a wonderful trip with great friends. 

Castle Hill and Villefranche-sur-mer

Yesterday we hiked up Castle Hill overlooking Nice. In the afternoon we took a boat ride along the coast to Villefranche-sur-mer. 

Billy and Darren went swimming at the beach. The weather is beautiful and the ocean is warm. 

We had champagne on the boat ride.

Eze, France

Today we took a train to Eze by the sea and hiked up to Eze Village. It was a steep trail with beautiful views that took us 1 hour to get to the top. 

 

 

The village was charming. 

After the hike and walking around (and around) the village, we finally found a great place for a delicious lunch. 

Yesterday we went on an e-bike ride all around Nice and up to a beautiful overlook. It was fun and parts of the ride were a little challenging when riding on the road with cars, 

At the end of the night we went to Wayne’s Bar and listened to great live music. It was a fun day!
